- 610The angel comes in Hira’; the call to “Arise and warn”In the cave of Hira’ the revelation begins. Soon comes the command: “Arise and warn.”
- 622The Hijrah begins — the night of departureA secret night escape, three nights in a cave, and the long road north to Madinah.
- 624The Battle of BadrSome 300 believers face an army of about 1,000 at the wells of Badr.
- 628The Treaty of al-HudaibiyahA truce that seemed one-sided, which the Qur’an called “a manifest victory”.
- 630The Conquest of MakkahHe enters Makkah with 10,000 and tells the people who drove him out: “No reproach on you this day.”
- 632The Farewell PilgrimageAt ‘Arafah, before a vast crowd, he gives his farewell sermon, months before his death.
