Muhammad is born in Makkah, in the quarter of Banu Hashim. His grandfather ‘Abdul-Muttalib carries him to the Ka’bah, thanks Allah, and names him Muhammad, a name not common among the Arabs.
As the book dates it: Monday morning, 9 Rabi’ al-Awwal, the Year of the Elephant; 20 or 22 April 571 A.D.
