In one night he is carried on al-Buraq with Gabriel from the Sacred Mosque in Makkah to the Farthest Mosque in Jerusalem, where he leads the prophets in prayer, then taken up through the heavens, meeting Adam, Jesus, Joseph, Moses, Abraham and others. Fifty daily prayers are ordained and, at Moses’ urging, reduced to five.
