The Emigrants and Helpers meet in the portico of Banu Sa’idah and choose Abu Bakr as caliph. The Prophet ﷺ is buried in ‘Aishah’s room, where he died, following his saying that a prophet is buried where he dies.

- AB‘Aishah bint Abi BakrAbu Bakr’s daughter; the book calls her the most learned woman in jurisprudence. The Prophet ﷺ died in her room.
